Celebrating 14 years!

14 years.

We are celebrating 14 years of DesignerDigitals this weekend.
And that’s no April Fools! We launched April 1st 2005

When I think back to 2005…
Randy and I had just been married 2 years
I had been incorporated with a freelance design business for 12 years
I was designing annual reports, catalogs, packaging etc for a variety of corporate clients
Scrapbooking was one of an assortment of hobbies I enjoyed in my free time
We had an on-line jewelry business, tootahs.com, making mothers bracelets
I had started offering digital downloads at scrapbook-bytes.com
And then I asked Randy if we could sell downloads on Tootahs… and DesignerDigitals was born!

There was no lesson book for this business. Etsy didn’t exist, selling downloads was a relatively new business and I took my business experience and made a business and marketing plan that I hoped would lead us to success, whatever success was to be.

We hit our share of bumps, pot holes, detours and road blocks but we also had many miles of speed racing with the wind in our hair so to speak.

It wasn’t always smooth and the business and marketing plans were challenged. But we are so happy with where we have arrived at today. I love designing for the scrapbook and digital art markets and so grateful that this business not only provides for us but it also allows me to follow my passion each and every day. And it has led me to design for a host of other scrapbook companies including Autumn Leaves, Fontwerks, Smile Box, Pink Paislee, Bo Bunny, My Mind’s Eye, Trimcraft, Our Memories for Life [I’m sure I’m forgetting someone, there have been so many] and my newest partnership with Simple Stories and the Simple Vintage Line!

I do believe I have come so far as a designer and I enjoy seeing my art continually evolve! Below is some of my newer releases!
