Filled with Gratitude
Today marks three years since my first cardiac arrest and I am filled with gratitude.
I will never forget the angel who was in the exercise class with me that day [she knows who she is]. She’s a doctor and recognized what was happening to me and got the ambulance there. The facility wasn’t CPR trained and had no AED available and I truly believe I wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t been there. I will always be thankful for her!
The last three years have been life changing for me and I look at and approach life differently than I ever had before.
A year and a half ago I started seeing a specialist and last fall had another event triggered from the flu shot. After a few days in ICU my doctor ordered tests that then led to a new, dual chamber device that has made a world of difference in my quality of life and I am very grateful to him as well.
Tomorrow is not promised, nothing in this world is guaranteed. 2020 has not been a year many of us want to remember but I am still grateful every day to be living a good life with my family and friends. xx
